Setup

Paired once. Forgotten forever.

No ledger mapping, no configuration screens — the connector adapts to whatever is in your Tally.

Install and run

Run the installer on the PC that runs Tally Prime. The connector lives quietly in the system tray and starts with Windows.

Pair with a token

Generate a connector token in the Restock app and paste it in once. That's the whole setup — no ledger mapping, no configuration screens.

It syncs itself

The connector polls for confirmed orders and books the matching Sales voucher in Tally automatically. You keep working in Tally as always.

Tally remains your system of record — Restock never generates tax documents. The connector just does the data entry.

Orders → Sales vouchers

Confirmed orders book as Sales vouchers with the GST split done right — CGST/SGST or IGST by place of supply — and per-line HSN codes.

Payments → Receipts

Verified payments book as Receipt vouchers against the order's bill, so outstanding in Tally matches outstanding in Restock.

Credit notes

Approved returns and adjustments flow in as Credit Notes — no manual passing of entries.

Balance drift check

The connector periodically compares outstanding balances between Restock and Tally and flags any drift, so the two never silently diverge.

Does Tally need to be running?

Yes — the connector talks to Tally Prime's built-in XML server on the same PC (localhost:9000 by default), which is available while Tally is open. Orders confirmed while Tally is closed are queued and booked on the next sync.

Which Tally editions are supported?

Tally Prime on Windows. The connector uses Tally's standard XML gateway, so Silver and Gold licenses both work.

Does it send my Tally data anywhere?

No. The connector pushes Restock orders into Tally and reads back only what's needed to confirm the voucher was booked and to check balances. Your books never leave your PC — only sync acknowledgements and heartbeats reach Restock.

What happens if a voucher fails to book?

The error is reported back to the Restock app and shows on that order's screen, so you know exactly which order needs attention. Nothing is silently dropped.

Windows says it doesn't recognise the app — is that normal?

Yes. The connector isn't yet signed with a commercial certificate, so Windows SmartScreen may show a prompt on first run. Choose 'More info' → 'Run anyway'. The download always comes from this official link.

Who generates the invoice?

Tally does — it remains your accounting system of record and owns the GST invoice series. Restock never generates tax documents on its own.
